What is Spiritual Warfare?

Spiritual Warfare is the idea that Christians in the United States need to organize a response to sin, secularism, and evil by holding prayer sessions to invoke the intervention of God to oppose these negative forces and crush them so that Christianity will be triumphant and by “purifying” the society it will prepare the way for the return of Jesus Christ to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and from their do battle with the Anti-Christ and False Prophet identified in the Bible in the Book of Revelation.

This battle includes an apocalyptic confrontation which includes wiping all folks who are not “real” Christians off the face of the Earth as they are crushed to death by God like the “Grapes of Wrath” until their blood flow like a river through the valley of Mount Megiddo in Israel.  Thus “Armageddon.”

Alas, many Bible scholars now believe the actual author of the Book of Revelation was misidentified and the chapter included by mistake. This may be why prayerful intervention has not succeeded.

Also, the real author of the Book of Revelation was a hermit living on the Mediterranean island of Patmos in a cave where it is entirely possible that he was tripping on psychedelic fungus when he wrote down his spectacular visions of the future.

Millions of American Christian Fundamentalists and some of the slightly more moderate Evangelicals believe the Apocalypse is an approaching event. They tend to vote Republican.
